Software to display seismic data in real-time
Cross-Platform Software

jAmaseis: jAmaSeis is a Java-based program that allows users to obtain and display seismic data in real-time from either a local seismometer, a remote educational seismometer connected to the jAmaseis network, or any research-quality seismometer that streams data to the IRIS Data Management Center.

Seismic Waves: Seismic Waves is a browser-based tool to visualize the propagation of seismic waves from historical earthquakes through Earth’s interior and around its surface. Easy-to-use controls speed-up, slow-down, or reverses the wave propagation.

IRIS Earthquake Browser

The IRIS Earthquake Browser (IEB) is an interactive map for exploring millions of seismic event epicenters (normally earthquakes) on a map of the world. Selections of up to 5000 events can also be viewed in 3D and freely rotated with the 3D Viewer companion tool.

PC / Windows Software

AmaSeis: AmaSeis was the original software used to record earthquakes with the AS-1 Seismometer. It can also be used to view AS-1 seismic data from other schools by simply acquiring their files and saving them on your computer. To understand how to use the software there is an accompanying AmaSeis Manual.

Seismic Eruptions: A program for the visualization of seismicity and volcanic activity in space and time.

Seismic Waves: Original PC version that illustrates how waves propagate from an earthquake hypocenter to seismic stations throughout the earth.

Global Earthquake Explorer: An interactive tool that can display real time seismic data from stations around the world, view seismograms from world events and study regional hotspots.

WinQuake: WinQuake was written to view and analyze Public Seismic Network (PSN), Princeton Earth Physics Project (PEPP), SAC Binary and Standard for the Exchange of Earthquake Data (SEED) volumes available on the internet.

EQ Locate: The EqLocate program allows you to select P-wave arrivals of a number of seismograms for an earthquake and find its location.

MacIntosh Software

Global Earthquake Explorer: An interactive tool that can display real time seismic data from stations around the world, view seismograms from world events and study regional hotspots.

"Software to display Seismic data in real-time..." this is really more interesting and of course it will help Geophysicists to detect seismic waves and to monitor their size and speed. There are lot of benefits of Seismic software which helps to avoid huge losses... I really enjoyed reading this thread and your (@anushka1991's) explanation about each software specialties which are very much clear to understand and the definitions as well... Great! Thank you for sharing this useful information...

RE: Software to display seismic data in real-time
Just wanna add a free software, i.e SeisGram2K Seismogram Viewer. You can download it at http://alomax.free.fr/seisgram/SeisGram2K.html

RE: Software to display seismic data in real-time
I totally agree with u @anushka1991, jAmaseis is agreat software to select from thousands of seismic stations around the world and view streaming seismic data in near real-time and also you can view up to three stations simultaneously or display three components of a single seismic station.

Thanks once again for sharing this information.

Software to display seismic data in real-time
Hi,
i am completely convinced with the fact that the jamaseis software view upon thousands of different sesmatic stations around the globe or in real time near you can be displayed simultaneously and because of this quality Jamaseis is very unique compared to other ones.

Thank you

RE: Software to display seismic data in real-time
How accurate & to-date are websites such as these? https://ds.iris.edu/seismon/bigmap/index.phtml Would it be more accurate to utilise a software in PC?

If not, where can these software be purchased/obtained?

RE: Software to display seismic data in real-time
This IRIS webpage maps earthquakes around the world. It is kept up to date but you have to remember that earthquakes will take some time to show up (minutes to hours).

This website is constantly updated but it can take minutes to hours for an earthquake to be mapped.
